The Story of
VoIP

VoIP is much like software in the 90s - vaporware. Many VoIP providers
have talked a good game, but when it came time to put up... they had to
shut up.
To
VoIP Providers:
- If you are providing any kind of voice services and
cannot get 2 lines hunting, pack up.
- If your web portal can't be accessed or does not work
as advertised, time to re-think the whole thing.
- If you are charging more than 2.5 cents for LD, you
need to get a better rate. (Switched LD is as low as 2.9 cents these
days).
- If you cannot port numbers, the main application then
is cheap LD (see above).
- If you are a big VoIP provider and you make your VARs
jump through hoops, this may end up being your downfall as the ILECs
and Cablecos enter the VoIP market and Asterisk starts being every NSPs
dream come true.
- If your time-to-market is more than six weeks from
the initial discussion with a NSP, you will replaced by Asterisk.
- If your LNP region is just major markets, need I
mention Asterisk again?
