Got Update? How to Make Sure Your PC Is
Current Where It Matters
You
may or may not be aware that the foundation of your computer—that is,
your
operating system and your security tool—is subject to update. Whether
we are
talking about WindowsXP, Vista, Norton, MacAfee, or other similar
software, it
is the “nature of the beast” for updates to be released on a periodic
basis. It
is important to stay current on these updates to make sure that your
system is
running as safely and efficiently as possible.
Note
that there are usually to steps to update your PC: downloading the
update, then
executing it. You can set both steps to
take place automatically, or you can set the program to notify you when
an
update is downloaded and ready to install. This may be preferable if
the
execution step slows things down when you are trying to use your system
or if
you are not online continuously.
